Bird's-eye view of Socorro, ca. late 1880s. Here is Socorro at the peak of the boom; a train heads west to Magdalena to pick up ore.( you can see the puff of smoke from the train) A train sits puffing at the depot; and a number of historic properties still standing today are visible.
